Centrale & Whitgift Art Trail now LIVE
Eight Croydon-based artists were chosen from over forty submissions by a panel from the Croydon Culture team, Centrale & Whitgift centres and the Croydon Partnership, to be featured in a multi-sensory art installation at the destination.
The installation’s theme, ‘Croydon Music City’, captures the rich history, diversity and creativity of Croydon’s musical ties. As part of the application process, each artist was asked to list three tracks that inspired them to create their piece. Visitors will be able to access a specially curated playlist via QR codes, with each piece featuring a link to the artist’s specific tracks.
To get the most out of the Art Trail, visitors are encouraged to download Centrale & Whitgift’s PLUS app via the App store or Google Play where they will be able to use the digital map that details each pieces location.
To celebrate the launch of the trail Centrale & Whitgift, alongside the Croydon Partnership, are offering visitors a chance to win either a set of Beats headphones or a 12 month Spotify Premium membership.
Visitors simply need to snap a selfie at their favourite Art Trail installation, and tag @centralewg on Instagram to enter with a chance to win. The competition closes 18 June, with more information on how to enter on www.centraleandwhitgift.co.uk/competitions/art-trail-competition
Joanne Bailey, General Manager at Centrale Shopping Centre said “We know our customers are looking for an experience when they visit us, and the Art Trail is one example of how we are delivering that. Croydon is home to incredible talent, and we’ve loved celebrating that and seeing each artist bring the Croydon Music City theme to life. We look forward to seeing visitors listening to the music that inspired the artists and snapping selfies next to their favorite pieces.”
