The Ludoquist Launches a Future Fun-der Campaign
Locally loved, The Ludoquist is a unique, independent board games café/restaurant/bar, where people can meet to immerse themselves in one of 1,000s of board games, from 2-player modern classics to multi-player mega-games, like Mega Civ. Carrie and Nick Smith, the founders and owners of The Ludoquist, have created an incredible place for friends, families, couples and even strangers, to meet, sit, relax and enjoy board games together. They’ve even had couples who met on one of their open board games’ nights, fall in love and get married. It’s a family-friendly, people-friendly place to enjoy interactive board games and good food and drinks, whatever your age.
Like so many places, The Ludoquist has had to run at low capacity (to enable safe social distancing) or be closed completely for the last 10 months. As an independent business in the heart of Croydon’s community, Nick and Carrie Smith wanted to help and so they’ve launched the Future Fun-der campaign; a multi-purpose campaign where you can choose to support local NHS staff (to say ‘thank you’ by donating to a future free evening out), disadvantaged local children (by donating an educational board game), The Ludoquist’s dedicated staff members (by donating a tip) or simply donating to The Ludoquist, to ensure it can reopen its doors once more when this pandemic has passed.
In addition to the Future Fun-der campaign, you could always buy a gift card to enjoy a future meal/board game out, or a membership (which will begin from the date The Ludoquist can open again). You could also buy a pre-games board session for as little as £4.50 pp. A silver membership (at £119 for 12 months) will remove the £5 table charge each time, so if you go twice a month or more, it’ll save you money. If you know a board games enthusiast, who needs cheering up with the optimistic thought of having fun again, this would be a perfect present!
As keen board games enthusiasts, Nick and Carrie Smith have always understood how much people enjoy getting together for an interactive experience and, on a ‘normal’ Friday night, The Ludoquist is often filled with the sound of laughter by six o’clock. There has never been a more important time to support our local businesses, and our communities, to survive this seemingly endless winter in lockdown. Their inspirational Future Fun-der campaign gives us all the chance to contribute, in whichever way we wish, whether more altruistically to support the NHS staff on the frontline, or disadvantaged families, or whether to simply pay it forward to enjoy a future get together when The Ludoquist opens its doors again.
